My New Favorite Platform: Craftsy

I recently discovered a new website, Craftsy. I’ve been telling anyone who will listen about how wonderful it is. I’ve taken art classes online before. You learn a lot of principles, but the way the class is setup, it’s usually hard to really learn anything. Craftsy does a great job of offering an interactive learning environment for artists to broaden their horizons.

Craftsy offers both free and paid courses in the areas of fine art, crocheting, knitting, quilting, sewing, cooking and so on. I’ve really enjoyed taking Gary Faigin’s Drawing Facial Features class. I’ve learned a lot about how to achieve a realistic looking portrait.

Also, it’s nice to interact with others in the community. You are able to share your projects to get feedback from instructors and peers. I’ve posted several projects already, which you can view here.

I’m just really happy with the quality of these courses. If you are also interested in drawing, you can like the Craftsy Drawing Club on Facebook for information about class sales, giveaways and to view art.
